Teenagers arrested following stabbing in Broadmeadows

Four teenagers have been charged following an alleged stabbing in Broadmeadows on Monday night.

Police were initially called to a retail store carpark off Pearcedale Parade, following reports of a stabbing and fight between males, about 7.30pm.

A 40-year-old man and an 18-year-old boy, both from Glenroy, were found at the scene with suspected stab wounds and were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Witnesses reported about four or five teenagers were seen running from the scene.

The Air Wing quickly responded and spotted the youths entering an address in Fir Close, Broadmeadows.

Police moved in on the property and arrested an 18-year-old and three 19-year-old boys.

Officers have been told the two Glenroy victims made their way to the carpark to confront the group of teens after the teenage victim’s air pods had been stolen during a robbery at a nearby shopping centre, about 6.15pm.

The pair, who didn’t report the robbery to police, had used the Apple ‘find my’ application to track the location of the air pods.

It has since been discovered a fifth boy, aged 14-years-old, was also injured during the fight. He has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. It is expected the boy will also be interviewed in relation to the incident.

A 19-year-old from Craigieburn has been charged with cause serious injury with intention in circumstances of gross violence, affray and robbery.

The 18-year-old from Meadow Heights has been charged with intentionally and recklessly cause injury and affray.

Both are set to face court on Tuesday.

The remaining two 19-year-olds, from Coolaroo and Broadmeadows, have been bailed to appear before court on June 17.

One of the pair was charged with affray and the other charged with intentionally and recklessly cause injury, affray, assault by kicking and robbery.
