Bats miss out on finals

Plenty Valley fell just short of making the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association T20 finals.

The top six teams won both their matches, with the last two finals spots coming down to percentage,

Teams from seventh through to 26th all won one match, including the Bats.

The Bats percentage meant it finished in 19th spot.

After winning their first match of the competition, the Bats lost to Preston on Tuesday night in round two.

The Bullants won the toss and decided to bat, making 5-133.

Chenutha kavinda Wickramasinghe took three wickets for the Bats.

The match went down to the wire, with the Bullants sneaking home as they restricted the Bats to 9-126.

Lahiru Opatha top scored with 39.
