A probationary driver had his car impounded after being caught speeding in Bundoora on the morning of December 8.
Officers intercepted a Subaru driving on the Metropolitan Ring Road at about 2.55 am.
Police clocked the driver at an alleged speed of 195 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.
The Subaru was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $992.52.
The driver, an 18-year-old South Morang man, will be summonsed to appear at a magistrates court to face multiple speed related offences.
