Teen charged over crime spree in north-west

Police have charged a 17-year-old following multiple alleged aggravated burglaries and theft of motor vehicles in Melbourne’s north-west.

Police will allege the teen gained access to multiple properties and vehicles in Werribee, Tarneit, Point Cook, South Morang, Epping, Preston and Box Hill between Thursday, October 31 and Tuesday, November 26.

Police said he has been charged with 57 offences that include aggravated burglary, attempted aggravated burglary, burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, theft, trespass, learner driving unaccompanied, obtaining property by deception, handling stolen goods, criminal damage and dangerous driving whilst pursued.

Police said he was remanded to appear before a children’s court at a later date.
