A 16-year-old boy has been charged following an incident where a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted on a walking track in Jacana earlier this month.
A search warrant was executed at a Roxburgh Park residential address early on August 27.
The boy was arrested and subsequently charged with rape, stalking, false imprisonment, common law assault, recklessly cause injury, detention for a sexual purpose and two counts of sexual assault.
He will appear at a children’s court.
The charges follow an incident where a woman was running along the path through Jacana Reserve, near Johnstone Street, on the morning of August 14 about 11.30am.
Police allege she heard someone come up behind her, before being thrown to the ground and assaulted.
The woman was able to get away and ran to the car park, where two passers-by assisted and called police.
