Police are investigating a carjacking and hit-run collision in Melbourne’s north which occured at about 8pm on Sunday, August 18.

It is believed a 52-year-old Craigieburn man was delivering food along Fleet Street in Somerton, when the driver of a stolen white Toyota Prado crashed into the back of his Toyota Yaris.

The driver of the Prado and his passenger got out of the car, threatened the man with a knife and attacked him before stealing his belongings as well as his vehicle.

The Craigieburn victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.

About 20 minutes later, officers were called to a three-vehicle collision involving the same Toyota Prado on Camp Road in Broadmeadows.

The driver of the Toyota fled the scene on foot and the occupants of the two other vehicles were not injured.

The investigation remains ongoing.
