The Essendon District Football League has moved this week’s women’s grand finals to Sewell Reserve, Glenroy.
The games were scheduled for Coburg City Oval, but the league released a statement on Tuesday night saying the three games had to move due to factors beyond the league’s control.
Essendon Football Club’s training facility, The Hangar, was named the new location.
The EDFL in a statement on Wednesday evening said the location would now be Sewell Reserve.
“Due to the final logistics involved with moving Saturday’s senior women’s grand finals to The Hangar, the Essendon District Football League has consulted with the clubs involved and have, with their full support, decided it is in the best interest of all participants and spectators that the games be moved.
“All three games will be played at Glenroy’s Sewell Reserve with entry to remain free and start times and broadcast plans unchanged.
“It was imperative that dates and times remained unchanged and while a variety of options were explored, the league and the participating clubs decided that ease of public access, suitable amenities and existing facilities was of utmost importance.
“Senior finals will return to Sewell Reserve which has been a staple finals venue for many years.”
