Fletcher Street reopened

As a part of upgrades to Epping Road, Fletcher Street was reopened to traffic on Wednesday August 7.

The upgrade improvements include sections of the new southbound lanes on Epping Road, a traffic island and new and improved turning lanes in and out of Fletcher Street.

Fletcher Street is the second intersection to be upgraded as part of the project following the completion of improvements at Baltrum Drive in February.

Other key intersections set for upgrades are at Hayston Boulevard, Park Street, Harvest Home Road and Pine Park Drive.

Upgrades at Lehmanns Road and Hayston Boulevard are also underway, with both intersections due to reopen in late October.

The project is also adding extra lanes between Craigieburn Road East in Wollert and Memorial Avenue in Epping.

Major Road Projects Victoria program director Dipal Sorathia said the works would benefit the community.

“The improvements to the Fletcher Street intersection are vital to helping the Epping Road Upgrade achieve its aim of safer, more-reliable travel for all the road’s users,” he said.

“We thank the community and drivers for their patience as we complete these important major works.”

The project is due for completion in 2025.
