Grants to make kindergartens more inclusive and safe

Kindergartens, including those in the northern suburbs, can apply for grants of up to $200,000 to upgrade buildings and playgrounds.

The funding is designed to make early childhood centres more inclusive and safe for children of all needs and abilities.

The grants are part of the latest round of the building blocks inclusion grants, which was announced this week.

Children Minister Lizzie Blandthorn said the government would continue to focus on making access to education accessible for all children.

“These grants are all about making sure our kinders are a safe and welcoming space for all children – so every Victorian child can get the best start in life,” she said.

“We’re delivering unprecedented investment in early childhood services so all children can get the most out of great local kindergartens.”

The program, which launched in 2020, has provided more than $235 million to improve early childhood services across the state.
