St Monica’s College in Epping has long been known for its annual productions, and this year will be no different, as the students are preparing for their upcoming performances of Hairspray The Muscial.

It’s 1962 in Baltimore, and teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular ”Corny Collins Show.”

When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to sudden star.

This high voltage musical will showcase the work of more than 100 students and staff across the college, and is set to be a sight to behold across its three nights.

College principal Brian Hanley said the production is always an annual highlight.

“Many students and staff have an opportunity to be involved in this wonderful production whether on stage, backstage or as musicians. So much hard work goes into a production of this size and we are pleased to be able to give our Monicans this opportunity,” he said.

“The annual production is certainly a highlight of our art’s program and I am sure our students will relish the opportunity to excel on stage.”

The show will take place from June 13 to June 15 at the Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre.
