Plenty Valley Christian College Year 12 students had a visit from the Bridge Inn Road Upgrade to discuss environmental science.
On Thursday, May 9, a presentation was given to show students the impacts on the environment of the current road upgrades, and taught them about air and water quality, and using recycled materials.
Major Road Projects Victoria program director Dipal Sorathia said working with schools is important to teach younger people about the works.
“We were thrilled to work with Plenty Valley Christian College to share the Bridge Inn Road Upgrade’s environmental and sustainability values with the Year 12 students as part of their studies,” he said.
“Working with the community is an important part of the project team’s commitment to delivering this important infrastructure upgrade, which will deliver safer and more-reliable travel for all the road’s users.”
Plenty Valley Christian College is part of the wider community in Doreen and Mernda set to benefit from the Bridge Inn Road Upgrade.
The project is adding extra lanes in both directions between Plenty Road, Mernda, and Yan Yean Road, Doreen.
