Hume City through in Australia Cup

Hume City’s dreams of another shot on the national stage in the Australia Cup remain alive.

The National Premier League side faced Brunswick City on Tuesday night in the fifth round of the competition.

Hume led the match 2-0 at half time before scoring another two to cap off a solid performance and get a 4-1 win.

Josh Bingham scored twice for Hume, with Lloyd Isgrove and Joshua Gulevski also scoring.

Hume will face Bayside Argonauts in the sixth round for a spot in the national stage.

While Hume continues on in the competition, Upfield and Uni Hill Eagles journey came to an end this week.

Upfield had a a challenge on its hands against the Bentleigh Greens,

The Greens scored three first half goals to take control of the match. They put the icing on the cake in the second half with another to win 4-0.

The Eagles faced Melbourne SRBIJA and conceded two goals in the first half.

That would be the difference in the game, with SRBIJA winning 2-0.

Bundoora United’s run also ended in the fifth round, losing to the Argonauts the week before.
