Funding for Hume men’s sheds

The Tullamarine Community House and Men’s Shed and Hume Men’s Shed in Sunbury are among 28 sheds that will benefit from the latest round of the state government’s Men’s Shed Funding Program.

Carers and Volunteers Ros Spence Minister and Sunbury MP Josh Bull announced the grants which will help to build new sheds, and fund extensions, improvements, and refurbishments.

The Tullamarine shed has received $16,644 to purchase and install a dust extraction system, while the Hume shed has received $3,762 to remove and replace kitchen benchtops, add splashbacks and cupboards.

Ms Ros Spence said men’s sheds provide a welcoming place to learn new skills, contribute to the community and improve mental health and wellbeing.”

“These grants help to establish new men’s sheds, complete repairs, and make improvements that ensure they are safe, remain fit for purpose, and are accessible to all members.”

Sunbury MP Josh Bull said the men’s sheds in Tullamarine and Hume provide a supportive environment for locals to learn new skills while connecting with others.”

“These grants will go a long way to help these men’s sheds continue their important work in the community.”
