The AFL has released fixtures for the 2024 Victorian Football League men’s and women’s season.

Both competitions will commence on the weekend of March 22 to 24, aligning with round two of the 2024 AFL season.

The fixture release includes the full schedule for rounds one to 14 of the VFL season, along with match ups and venues for the remaining eight rounds.

Each team will play 18 matches and have three byes across the 21 round season.

Kicking off the new season with a double-header at the Hangar on Saturday, March 23. The men will play Brisbane after the women take on Port Melbourne.

Round one marks the first of two double-headers at the Hangar, with another to follow on Saturday, April 20 when the men face Southport and the women play the Southern Saints

The Dons will once again venture to Victoria Park and the MCG for the annual ANZAC and Sir Doug Nicholls Rounds to face Collingwood and Richmond respectively in marquee matchups.

Round 11 will be a blast from the past for local Essendon fans as the two programs take on old rivals Carlton in a double-header at Windy Hill for King’s Birthday Eve on Sunday, June 9.

At the completion of the home and away season the VFL’s wildcard round will return and be played across the weekend of August 24-25. The top-six teams on the ladder will have a pre-finals bye.

The VFL finals series begins on the weekend of August 31- September 1 with the grand final scheduled to be played on Sunday, September 22.

All 14 rounds of the VFLW season were released.

All 12 teams who took part in the VFLW last year will again feature in the 2024 VFLW season, which will again comprise 14 rounds. In a change to the VFLW fixture, the Sydney Swans and GWS Giants will compete in part of the season, with each New South Wales-based club to play five matches against VFLW clubs from rounds three to seven of the home-and-away season.
