Hume council has opened round one of funding for its 2024-25 Event Grants Program, with funding up to $30,000 available.
The program provides support for organisers of events big or small, but with the key theme to make a positive difference to the Hume community.
Funding between $2000 and $30,000 is available, depending on the category and the expected number of guests attending.
Hume mayor Naim Kurt said the program is an exciting way for council to support grass roots events that promote Hume’s diversity and culture.
“When people think of events and tourism, we want them to be thinking of Hume as the events capital and the place to be,” he said.
“I encourage our community to dream big and come up with projects that celebrate our community and support our thriving economy.
“Act fast and get your submission in to ensure our council can support your event celebrations.”
Funding for events with 3000 or more attendees will end on March 4, and a second round for smaller to medium-sized events will start in May.
