Boost for independent schools

Applications to close on February 23, 2024.

Students across the state, including those in Hume and Whittlesea, will get access to new and expanded facilities with the second round of applications of the Building Fund for Non-Government Schools now open.

Education Minister Ben Carroll announced the program on November 30, with applications to close on February 23, 2024.

“We are proud to support all schools across the state, as every student deserves access to a quality school close to home, regardless of their background or where they live,” Mr Carroll said.

“Building the education state means providing all schools, including non-government schools, opportunities to keep their facilities up to date, to cater for a successful and supportive educational experience.”

The program will allow the independent school sector to increase capacity or upgrade facilities at existing schools – delivering greater learning opportunities as campuses grow and develop.

Independent schools in Victoria can benefit by applying for grants of between $50,000 and $3.6 million to expand or upgrade existing facilities, giving students a modern and tailored learning environment.

These grants help non-government schools upgrade and expand school facilities, ensuring hard-working families get the best and safest environments for their children to learn in.
