More Hume and Whittlesea fans and families will have the chance to be a part of the National Hockey League (NHL) ice hockey action this weekend, with activities and games for everyone to enjoy.
The Arizona Coyotes and Los Angeles Kings will make history when they take to the ice for the 2023 NHL Global Series in Melbourne this Saturday and Sunday in front of packed crowds.
Rod Laver Arena will be transformed for the iconic event, and fans were able to see some of the world’s best ice hockey players in action in an open practice session on Friday.
Tourism, Sport and Major Events Minister Steve Dimopoulos the NHL is set to take Melbourne by storm with an action packed weekend.
“The 2023 NHL Global Series – Melbourne is going to be a fantastic event for our city and we’re proud to support it,” he said.
“From boosting the economy through interstate and overseas visitation to offering free family friendly activities in the school holidays.”
The NHL Global Fan Tour will include fun hockey attractions open to the public from Friday to Sunday, 10am to 2pm.
Attendees of all ages will be able to test their goal-scoring, passing and stickhandling skills, and meet the mascots.

The event is the first NHL matches in the Southern Hemisphere and includes a rare visit from one of the United States’ ‘big four’ leagues.
