Police seize drugs, cash and cloned plates

Police have seized drugs, cash and cloned plates following the arrest of a man and woman in Tullamarine on Thursday morning.

Officers first spotted the pair travelling south on Sydney Road, in a red Suzuki Alto with suspected cloned plates, about 2.20am.

Brunswick members tried to intercept the car before it sped off travelling through a number of residential streets in Coburg.

The Air Wing was called in to assist and followed the car as it travelled through Glenroy and Broadmeadows and into an industrial estate in Keilor East where police successfully deployed stop sticks in Stirling Drive.

The disabled car, travelling approximately 40km/h, was pursued by police until it came to a rolling stop in South Centre Road,Tullamarine.

A man and woman, aged 26 and 19 years old respectively, were found in the car and arrested.

Police seized several pairs of suspected cloned plates, a quantity of alleged methylamphetamine and what appeared to be ecstasy tablets and cash following a search of the vehicle.

The pair are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Further enquiries have revealed the car was stolen from a property in St Kilda East on July 24.
