‘Smiles all round’

Hume Anglican Grammar’s Kalkallo campus opened its doors for the start of term three.

This campus is the third for the growing school, joining sites in Mickleham and Donnybrook.

Assistant Principal Kristen Smith said everyone has been loving the new campus.

“Smiles all around … teachers with brilliant beams on their faces, kids were just so excited walking into the new buildings, and our parents have been pretty enthusiastic as well,” she said.

Ms Smith said the design focused on natural elements for a dedicated primary school.

“Children warm to nature in a way that is really calming for them, as well as in a way that promotes curiosity,” she said.

These grounds will be used for prep to grade 3 students for the remainder of this year with an extra grade 3 and 4 class being added next year along with three new prep classes each year until the school is filled.
