Hume council is making the call out for a local artist, designer or a group of creative practitioners to create an original artwork or design in the Victorian Aboriginal design tradition that can be displayed and printed digitally on council-owned and produced assets.
The project is an opportunity for an artist or designer to have their work commissioned by Hume council to connect staff, visitors and community to a visual identity that references Victorian Aboriginal design traditions.
Hume council is looking for a work that will connect with the shared role in healing and building positive relationships between council and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as acting as a catalyst for educating the broader public, staff, and community about the significance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander languages, cultures and histories.
The selected work will support Hume council’s Reconciliation Action Plan, which includes a commitment to provide a culturally safe workplace for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
Applications close on Thursday May 25 at 2pm.
