Greenvale teen arrested over break-ins

Police have charged a teenager following at least 15 attempted aggravated burglaries and thefts in the Greenvale area over a four-day period in March.

Police allege the boy attempted to break into at least 15 properties or cars in the early hours of the mornings between Monday, March 20 and Thursday, March 23..

It is alleged the boy attempted to access properties via doors, windows and tried car door handles before fleeing the area once realising they were locked.

In three alleged incidents, cars were broken into and items from inside were stolen.

The alleged attempted break-ins all occurred in the suburb of Greenvale, including Carroll Lane, Navana Court, Section Road and Edara Circuit.

Police executed a warrant in Greenvale on the morning of Monday, April 3, arresting the 17-year-old boy.

He has since been charged with multiple counts of attempted aggravated burglary, attempted theft and theft.

He has been bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
