NPL teams enter Australia Cup

The Australia Cup will hit another level in round four with the National Premier League teams entering the competition.

The draw for the fourth round was released last Friday with a number of interesting match ups scheduled for March 29.

All sides would have started their regular seasons by that stage.

State league 1 north-west side Whittlesea United will host the Bulleen Lions, while Whittlesea Ranges are looking to back up a 9-0 win in round three against the Manningham United Blues.

Upfield, which had a successful Australia Cup campaign last season, faces Boroondara Eagles, while Epping City will play Yarraville.

Greenvale United will host Hampton East Brighton in the fourth round, while La Trobe University will play Lalor United United.

NPL side Hume City’s first match will be against Doncaster Rovers.

Green Gully, which made the national stage last season, plays the Eastern Lions in its first match of the competition,

New state league 1 north-west team Westgate will play the Geelong Rangers, while North Sunshine Eagles will host Williamstown.

Keilor Park will play Box Hill United, while Westvale Olympic will face Old Scotch.

The Keilor Wolves are having another strong Australia Cup and will face Ashburton in the fourth round. The Wolves are one of few state league 4 teams left in the competition, with Greenvale United and La Trobe University among the others.
