Epping Views Primary School (EPVS) will take part in National Ride2School Day alongside 3000 other active schools who have registered.
Over 350,000 students across the nation will walk, ride or skate to school on Friday, March 24.
Epping Views Primary School has participated in Ride2School Day each year pre-covid since the school opened in 2008.
EPVS education support staff member Branka Petrovic said a couple of hundred of the school’s 900 pupils were expected to participate this year.
“The students at EVPS are looking forward to Ride2School Day as it gives them the opportunity to ride, scoot, or walk with their friends to school,” she said.
“It promotes the importance of road and bike safety awareness and it encourages students’ physical activity.
“Ride2School Day reduces traffic and our carbon footprint, and also gives parents the opportunity to talk about road and bike safety.”
The nationwide program is delivered by Bicycle Network which has been running nationally since 2006.
