A Henry Cullen century has Plenty Valley on top after day one of its match with Malvern in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association north-south.

The Bats won the toss and decided to bat.

The Bats looked steady throughout the early bat of their innings, but still lost some wickets.

Cullen and Yashen Sharma put on 150 for the sixth wicket partnership to take the score past 200.

The Bats lost several late wickets, including Cullen, to finish 9-282.

Cullen made 162 from 221 balls, including hitting 22 fours and one six.

Sharma made 59 as just three Bats reached double figures.

Michael Beer took three wickets for Malvern.

Meanwhile, in the Victorian Turf Cricket Association senior division, Craigieburn’s finals hopes took a dash.

Defending 164, the Eagles weren’t able to get enough early wickets at Yarraville Club made 4-165.

Westmeadows tough season continued, losing to Haig Fawkner.

Chasing 202, the Warriors were bowled out for 159. Donovan Pell top scored with 159.

Tullamarine continued its good form of late in division 1, beating Seddon.

Having made 212 on day one, the Demons were able to bowl Seddon out for 183.

In division 2, Greenvale Kangaroos fell well short against St Andrew Pascoe Vale.

The Kangaroos always had a big ask ahead of them, chasing 6-319.

While Kangaroos were able to produce a solid score which would have been enough for victory in every other game in the division, it was still well short.

The Kangaroos were bowled out for 222.

In division 4, Roxburgh Park beat Moonee Ponds, while in division 5, Donnybrook beat Burnside Springs and Jacana lost to Sunshine YCW.
