Former Northern Knight Anthony Caminiti will live the AFL dream after being added to St Kilda’s list for this year’s AFL season.
The Saints announced that they had signed Caminiti via the supplemental selection period completing their list.
Caminiti, recruited from Carlton’s Victorian Football League program, has impressed since joining the club just one week ago, making himself impossible to look past during training.
“We’re really pleased to give Anthony this opportunity to join the Saints,” acting football general manager David Misson said.
“Anthony made an immediate impact since joining our group and has proven he’s worth this spot despite the small timeframe.
“We look forward to watching him continue to grow and progress throughout the rest of the pre-season and into the season proper.”
Caminiti, 19, who over the summer had been working two hospitality jobs while preparing to start an engineering degree at Melbourne University, said he was thrilled at the chance to play at the highest level.
“I’m so excited and grateful for this opportunity,” he said.
“It’s been a long road to get here, but now that I have this chance, I’m going to do everything in my power to prove this was the right decision.
“I’m looking forward to spending more time with my teammates and coaches and can’t wait to really embrace my time here at RSEA Park.”
