Another week and another round of the North West Metropolitan Cricket Association T20 competition affected by rain.
The quarter finals of the competition were held on Tuesday night, with heavy rain hitting several grounds.
Maribyrnong Park St Mary’s moved through to the next round without a ball being bowled, as Aintree forfeited.
It was a high scoring affair between the Chargers and Merrifield Panthers.
The Chargers made 6-241 from their overs with Jagmeet Brar making 116 off 50 balls. His innings included 10 fours and nine sixes.
Daman Sidhu took three wickets for the Panthers.
Point Cook’s run ended against Donnybrook.
Point Cook made 6-121 from its overs, with Donnybrook sharing the wickets.
Donnybrook wasted no time in getting the runs, finishing 3-123 in just 12 overs. Satnam Singh top scored with 38 at the top of the order.
RMIT is also through to the next round, due to being the higher ranked team.
Facing East Coburg, RMIT was 2-109 after 9.1 overs when the rain fell.Vikaas Kaliramana was 76 not out off 35 balls.
The game didn’t resume.
RMIT finished fourth after the pool matches, while East Coburg was fifth, meaning RMIT moved through to the semi finals.
The semi finals are scheduled for Tuesday.
