Drug lab uncovered in Mickleham quarantine facility

Police have uncovered a suspected hidden drug lab at the Mickleham quarantine facility.

A Victoria Police spokesperson said they are investigating the discovery of a number of suspected drug related items at a unit in the facility on Tuesday.

“The items, including glassware and unidentified liquids, were found in the Donnybrook Road unoccupied unit on 17 January about 4.30pm,” the spokesperson said.

“Police attended and seized the items and are investigating.”

A state government spokesperson said staff at the centre alerted police to the activity.

“As this is now under police investigation it would be inappropriate to comment.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
