Whittlesea administrator Chris Eddy has resigned from the council after a year and a half into his three year term.

Mr Eddy was appointed to council following the resignation of former administrator Bruce Billson in 2021.

Mr Eddy and his fellow administrators Lydia Wilson and Peita Duncan were appointed to serve until October 2024.

Whittlesea’s chair administrator Lydia Wilson said Mr Eddy resigned due to personal and family reasons.

“Chris has made a significant contribution as a member of the Panel of Administrators supporting the delivery of our Community Plan and I would like to recognise his vision and commitment to good governance, strong financial management, supporting a thriving local economy and the delivery of strategic projects,“ she said.

“Administrator Duncan and I remain fully committed to the ambitious program of work set out in our Community Plan and we look forward to advice from the Victorian Government about future arrangements.“

The state government will be required to appoint a new administrator to serve until October 2024.
