Four Plenty Valley women’s cricketers, Hope Irvine, Kiara Jones, Rhiann O’Donnell and Tayla Vlaeminck, have been named in a 13-player Victorian squad for the under-18 national championships in Ballarat in January.
A fifth Bats player, Sophie Reid, has been named in the Victorian development squad.

Women’s Premier Cricket

Plenty Valley got its first win of the VCA Women’s Premier season with a win over Melbourne. Batting first, the Bats made 6-219 before bowling out Melbourne for 168. Jacana defeated Craigieburn in the Women’s Community Cricket north-west division on Saturday. Craigieburn made 7-149 and Jacana 3-160 in reply. Darts

Westside Dockers were the big winners in round 10 of the Northern Darts Association’s A-grade competition, beating Watsonia Fill-Ins 9-2. The Junction Coosts were 8-3 victors over The Shooters, North Heidelberg Hawks won 8-3 against Reservoir Dogs, and Cramers Legends beat Da Wolf Pack 7-4. In B-grade, Pre/Res Lakies Blue defeated the Broadmeadows 8-3, Junction Grifters beat Whittlesea Eagles 8-3, Tulla Demons sneaked across the line 6-5 against Reservoir Mustangs, and Whittlesea Royals won in a walkover against Watsonia Saints.

NMCA

Keon Park ended day one of its clash with Rivergum in the box seat, competing for North Metro Cricket Association’s Jika Shield. Keon Park bowled Rivergum out for 129 and reached 2-43 by stumps in the two-day match. Shane Parker was the best of the bowlers with 4-11. Lalor Warriors will be wanting wickets early on day two of its clash against Holy Trinity. Warriors made 159 and had Holy Trinity 2-32 at stumps.

DVCA

Dylan Cunningham was the main destroyer for Bundoora United against North Eltham Wanderers in the Diamond Valley Cricket Association. Cunningham got five wickets as United restricted the Wanderers to 202 on day one of the two-day match. Epping made 236 against Riverside, which starts day two at 0-0. Old Paradians/
St Francis restricted Bundoora to 142 and made it to stumps at 0-35.
