Gladstone Park teenager is expected to be charged after the car he was driving was impounded by police on Wednesday night.
Police impounded a BMW X6 after the probationary driver was found to be more than 60km/h over the speed limit in Attwood.
Officers detected the wagon travelling 116km/h in a 60km/h zone along Mickleham Road about 10.45pm.
The 19-year-old driver, who was driving his mum’s car, was intercepted by police and found to be travelling with a female passenger.
The vehicle was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $917.
The teen is expected to be charged on summons with drive at a speed dangerous, exceeding the speed limit by 45km/h or more, probationary driver driving a probationary prohibited vehicle, use vehicle in breach of standards for registration and fail to display ‘P’ plates.
