Dancer ready for a spectacular show

South Morang’s Rosaliana can’t wait to step on to the stage for the Victorian State Schools Spectacular next month after the pandemic cancelled the live shows in 2020 and 2021.

A principal dancer in this year’s spectacular, Rosaliana said she was excited to be back on the stage.

She has been performing in the spectacular for eight years, starting out as an ensemble dancer, and said while she enjoyed the virtually-produced, made-for-television performance in 2020, it wasn’t the same as performing for a live audience.

“As a dancer, looking at all the audience from the stage, it’s a great experience,” she said.

“I enjoy the whole experience from start to finish. there is not one thing I don’t enjoy.

“Doing it for so many years inspired me to come back. The atmosphere and the love from each and every cast member is just fantastic.”

Rosaliana started dancing when she was three-years-old and became involved in the spectacular after watching a friend in the show in 2013.

“I told my mum ‘I want to do that, it looks so cool’,” she said.

This year, Rosaliana has been juggling rehearsals with her year 12 studies at The Lakes South Morang.

“No one said it was going to be easy being in year 12 and doing this as well,” she said.

“The spectacular rehearsals give me a release from the books.”

The Victorian State Schools Spectacular is on Saturday, September 10 at 1pmand 6.30pm at John Cain Arena.
