Whittlesea council invited locals to attend its quarterly community meeting and drop-in session in Thomastown on Monday night (June 27).
Residents were able to learn more about a number of council projects including green wedge, public transport, glass recycling, the public gardens redevelopment and the Thomastown/Lalor shared pathway project.
Attendees were treated to a free sausage sizzle by Lalor & District Men’s Shed, free coffee from local business Bec’s Choc Bomb and chocolate covered strawberries.
The Whittlesea Chinese Association Rainbow Choir treated people to a number of performances over the hour-long forum.
Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said the event was part of a program of community engagement activities.
“Administrators are committed to getting out and about across the municipality, listening to our community,” Ms Wilson said.
Administrator Peita Duncan was present on the night, mingling with guests and hearing from locals.
