On Sunday, July 10 volunteers will gather to help clean up Jack Roper Reserve from 10am-12pm to create a cleaner environment for all to enjoy.
Clean up days in Broadmeadows began in 2013 at Greenvale Reservoir Park and Jack Roper Reserve, giving residents an opportunity to contribute to the health and comfort of their local environment.
In 2019, the event at Jack Roper Reserve had 131 volunteers collect 500kg of rubbish, including hard rubbish such as broken tables and chairs, tyres and mattresses and 93 bags of general rubbish, over three hours.
Previous volunteer Diana, said that the reserve is a place for many families and visitors to meet and enjoy.
“I am happy that I too can help the park to stay clean and safe for both children and wildlife,” Diana said.
This event is open for anyone to join. Those who are interested are invited to register at the reserve on Sunday. Volunteers are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes or boots.
