Call out for puppy foster homes

The Australian Border Force [ABF] is calling for those wishing to foster a puppy for the Detector Dog Program to apply, including those in the Hume and Whittlesea region.

Applications must be from people willing to raise a puppy for 12 months in the Melbourne and Greater Geelong areas.

The ABF will supply all associated costs and help from an experienced and dedicated support team in Bulla.

Detector dog teams are trained and tasked to search:

* Luggage;

* Parcels;

* Cargo;

* Containers;

* Vessels;

* Vehicles;

* Aircraft;

* Buildings; and

* People.

Other government law enforcement agencies also use the detector dogs.
