Former Sri Lankan international Suraj Randiv has the task of helping Plenty Valley rise up the ladder in Victorian Premier Cricket women’s competition.
Randiv, who played for Sri Lanka in all three formats, has had an extensive coaching career after his playing days ended.
He is an accredited EBC and Australian level 2 coach and was most recently bowling coach at Dandenong.
Randiv will be responsible for the management of the female training program, match day performance and delivery of the club’s high performance program.
He will be supported by Brett Cole, who has been named head of female cricket and assistant coach.
It will be Cole’s second season at the club. He will also be responsible for the Plenty Valley-Diamond Valley Female Cricket Academy.
Natasha Noblett has been appointed as a specialist coach. Her cricket career has spanned several decades including 30 years as a coach and player at Plenty Valley.
In a statement the Bats said while they still had other positions to fill, they were thrilled to have the nucleus of their coaching structure in place.
The Bats first and second XIs were both winless last season.
“Together, our team of Suraj, Brett and Tash bring an amazing amount of cricket knowledge and experience,” the statement said.
“Their collective commitment is to provide an elite, professional training and playing environment for the entire Plenty Valley female group.”
