The Victorian government is providing travel vouchers for older residents, such as those in Hume and Whittlesea, to help them to travel and explore the state.
There will be a further 10,000 vouchers available as part of The Victorian and Seniors Travel Voucher Scheme for applicants who have previously applied through the ballot system.
The vouchers can be used for accommodation, tours and experiences across the state.
The scheme is designed to create more opportunities for seniors to travel and enjoy all Victoria has to offer.
Previous rounds of the scheme generated more than $159 million in economic benefits through spending on travel and activities around the state.
Minister for regional development Mary-Anne Thomas said the high uptake of the vouchers so far demonstrated that Victorians were ready to get back to travelling.
“It’s terrific that more Victorians have been able to access more travel vouchers, with plenty of places in regional Victoria and the city to explore,
“The Travel Voucher Scheme has supported jobs in the tourism, hospitality and events sectors across Victoria by encouraging more people to travel.”
