A $2.2 million upgrade to Arthurs Creek Road means drivers in Yan Yean can now enjoy a smoother and more reliable commute.
Arthurs Creek Road, between Plenty Road and Recreation Road, now has new asphalt, easy-to-see line markings, and updated guard rails.
The drainage along there has also been upgraded to ensure rainfall is diverted away from the busy road.
Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said that the council was committed to upgrading infrastructure to keep up with the rapidly growing population in Whittlesea.
“A reliable and connected local road network is one of the most important ways in which we’re supporting residents to get to where they need to be, safely and conveniently,” Ms Wilson said.
“Through the Community Plan 2021-2025, Council is prioritising projects that provide better access to transport, both public and road based, and this includes improving the condition of local roads.”
