Thrillers in the Australia Cup

Whittlesea United kept its Australia Cup dream alive with a thrilling win against Williamstown on Tuesday night.

Scores were locked at 1-1 at the end of regular time, after Williamstown led at half time.

The teams still couldn’t be split at the end of extra time, with the match to be decided on penalties.

Whittlesea would get the win 4-3.

Hume City is finally on the winners list this year. The National Premier League side, which is without a win in that competition, needed extra time to beat Langwarrin on Tuesday night.

Langwarrin opened the scoring in the first half through an own goal.

Scores were locked at 1-1 at the end of full time.

Mitch Cooper scored his and his side’s second early in extra time via a penalty.

The sealer came through Koray Cekic.

Epping City lost to Oakleigh Cannons, 4-0.

Hume and Whittlesea, joining Upfield and the Whittlesea Ranges in the next round.
