A section of Bridge Inn Road will be closed this week as part of works on the Mernda Town Centre.
The road will be closed between Plenty Road and Schotters Road from Sunday, March 20 to Friday, March 25.
Access to Mernda Train Station at Plenty Road will be closed and detours will be in place to assist drivers through the area.
Meanwhile, major works on the upgrade of Bridge Inn Road between Plenty and Yan Yean roads are on track to start in the middle of the year, according to Major Road Projects Victoria.
MRPV says early works on the project, including locating utilities services, are almost complete and will help inform the final final and construction plan.
Throughout April and May, crews will build a site office on the corner of Bridge Inn Road and Cookes Road. During the construction, the speed limit will be lowered to 40km/h and the road will be reduced to one lane at times.
The upgrade is expected to be completed by 2025.
