Lights boost pedestrian safety in Thomastown

It’s now even easier to get in and around Thomastown Shopping Centre, thanks to the new pedestrian operated traffic lights installed at High Street, near Central Avenue.

The traffic lights have been put in place to improve pedestrian safety in the area and provide better access to and from the shops, train station and future residential apartments, Whittlesea council said.

The installation of the traffic lights marks the completion of the Thomastown streetscape upgrade, which included new social spaces, improved footpaths and paving, updated lighting and fresh landscaping.

The Thomastown streetscape upgrades were delivered by council with the support of the Victorian government.
