Greenvale Kangaroos returned to the winners list in Victorian Premier Cricket on Saturday, with a strong performance against Camberwell Magpies.

The Kangaroos put out one of their best performances with the bat of the season, making 5-274 from their 50 overs.

Tom Cullen and Scott Dixon were behind such a big total, putting on 155 for the fourth wicket.

Cullen would go on to score his first century at the Kangaroos, making 109. Dixon was out for 95.

The Magpies got off to a less than ideal start and were in trouble at 4-63. The Magpies middle order started to find some rhythm and push the total towards 200.

They were able to get there, but were bowled out for 215 not long afterwards.

Darcy Bell and Michael Archer took three wickets each for the Kangaroos.

The win, the Kangaroos third, moves them to 16th on the ladder, jumping both the Magpies and Kingston Hawthorn.

This week the Kangaroos face Essendon.

In women’s premier cricket, the tough run continued for Plenty Valley this time against Carlton.

The Bats made 144 with Navleen Sandhu top scoring with 34.

Carlton’s openers had no issue at all in the run chase, finishing 0-145.

Former Bat Sophie Ried top scored with 69 not out.

The Bats remain winless.
