Plenty Valley’s winning streak came to an end in the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association north-east.
The Bats were running on confidence after winning their last six games, but fell short against Brunswick on Saturday.
Brunswick won the toss and elected to bat, making 7-224 on the back of 87 from Connor Ridge.
Hasaga Kumarage and Callum Nankervis took two wickets each for the Bats.
The Bats run chase got off to a poor start with the side soon finding themselves in trouble at 4-56.
Whie the Bats were able to steady and push towards the total, they fell short, finishing 9-175.
Naman Sharma, who came in at number nine, and Simon Black both top scored with 28.
The loss sees the Bats slip down the ladder to fifth.
Meanwhile, the Bats’ women’s side lost to Essendon Maribyrnong Park in Victorian Premier Cricket on Sunday.
The Bats were bowled out for just 89, with no player making more than 15.
EMP chased down the runs with ease, finishing 4-91.

In the men’s premier cricket, Greenvale Kangaroos lost to Frankston Peninsula.
The Kangaroos were bowled out for 152 in the final over.
Tom Cullen top scored with 57 at the top of the order.
Frankston Peninsula needed just over 26 overs to get the runs, finishing 4-153.
Jacob Pawlowicz and Connor Hayes took two wickets each for the Kangaroos.
The Kangaroos sit 17th with two wins.
