Hume residents, service providers and community groups are invited to have their say on the council’s Draft Health and Wellbeing Plan.
The draft plan outlines how council will work with the community over the next four years to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of everyone who lives, works and plays in Hume.
It identifies eight priority areas for healthy change and improvement including mental health and wellbeing, healthy and respectful relationships, children and young people, climate change, housing, gambling harm minimisation, healthy eating and active living and reduced tobacco use and exposure.
Mayor Carly Moore said: “Our Draft Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021-2025 embraces a holistic view of health and wellbeing that recognises the important role of family, community and environments.
“It is a plan for the whole community and describes how we want to create a city where every person can lead a healthy, happy and fulfilling life.
“Importantly, it acknowledges the financial, social and psychological toll the COVID-19 pandemic has had on our community and how council can support our collective recovery.
“As we look to a new year ahead, it is the perfect time to reflect on how we can create more positive health outcomes in the years ahead.”
