Hume, Whittlesea businesses celebrated

Hume and Whittlesea businesses have cleaned up at the 2021 Northern Business Achievement Awards.

The awards, hosted by economic development organisation NORTH Link, recognises achievements of businesses from the northern region.

Eleven businesses across the north, including in Whittlesea and Hume , were celebrated for their work throughout a year impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

NORTH Link executive director Chris James said the pandemic made 2021 a very difficult year for everyone, especially local businesses.

“These awards gave us the opportunity to recognise the persistence and resilience businesses have shown this year,” he said.

“It makes us very proud of our community.”

Winners included:

– Advanced Manufacturing: Softmed nominated by Hume City Council;

– Customer Service Award: Lashes On Point nominated by City of Whittlesea;

– Export Award: INOX nominated by City of Whittlesea;

– Human Resources Award: URBNSURF nominated by Hume City Council;

– Innovation and Enterprise Award: INOX nominated by City of Whittlesea; and

– Philanthropy Award – Business (tied): URBNSURF nominated by Hume City Council and Marshall Street Studios nominated by Banyule City Council.
