Buses are replacing trains on the Mernda train lines between Parliament and Clifton Hill due to an equipment fault.

The Department of Transport said passengers should check station platform displays and listen for announcements, and allow additional travel time.

The department said services will resume when repairs are complete and it’s safe to do so.

The VicRoads signals team is monitoring road conditions and will adjust traffic lights as needed to minimise congestion and assist with bus movements in the area, the department said.
