Vaccination rates in Hume and Whittlesea are racing toward state targets for first and second doses, according to new federal health department data.
As of Sunday, November 7, over 95 per cent of Hume residents had received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccination.
In Hume, 84.9 per cent of residents have received their second dose of the vaccine.
The data revealed that in Whittlesea, 92 per cent of residents have had their first dose, while 82 per cent have received their second.
It comes as both local government areas (LGA) were listed in the 10 areas with the highest increase in cases of the virus today.
Hume had the fourth highest increase with 60 cases, while Whittlesea was listed sixth with 53 cases.
The Casey LGA had the highest increase of cases in the state, recording 117 new cases today.
