Hume Business Awards celebrate resilience

A Campbellfield business has been crowned Business of the Year at this year’s Hume Business Awards.

The awards have run for 20 years, actively supporting businesses in the region and celebrating a dynamic group of Hume businesses with passion, energy, and perseverance who have played a significant role in keeping the economic viability of Hume alive.

Campbellfield’s pre-fabricated building supplier iBuild Building Solutions won the main award of the evening at last week’s awards, being recognised as Business of the Year.

Director Jackson Yin said the team was “super excited” about winning the award.

“This incredible recognition will certainly drive our determination towards serving our clients with products that are stronger, smarter, faster, and more affordable,” he said.

“We will reflect on these achievements as a team and focus on future successes and improvement.”

The company also took out the gongs for Learning and Development – shared with Australian Institute of Engineering – and Manufacturing – shared with Sidcon Fabrications.

Former Hume mayor Joseph Haweil said the municipality’s businesses reflected the characteristics of the city.

“This is a remarkable, diverse and resilient community,” Cr Haweil said.

“And these characteristics have been reflected in Hume’s businesses throughout what has been a most difficult and challenging time.”

“Hume businesses employ over 115,000 people, making a strong contribution to the local, state and national economy. That fact alone deserves recognition.”

“The Hume Business Awards are about celebrating our Hume business community, recognising and appreciating the effort, energy and achievement they have delivered, contributing directly to growing prosperity in Hume City.”
