Final arrest in relation to alleged Broadmeadows stabbing

Police have arrested the final person wanted in relation to the alleged stabbing of a teenage boy in Broadmeadows in July.

Police said a 17-year-old Broadmeadows boy was interviewed last night following the alleged stabbing on Pascoe Vale Road on Thursday, July 15.

The boy was released from custody and is expected to be charged on summons with affray and intentionally causing injury in circumstances of gross violence.

Detectives have interviewed a total of 10 teenage boys in relation to the incident.

Five of six teenagers who were initially issued with cautions in relation to the incident are now expected to be charged on summons with affray.

A sixth teen was charged with affray and other assault related offences on Monday, July 19.

He was bailed to appear at a children’s court at a later date.

Two Coolaroo boys were interviewed on Monday, July 26.

One of the boys, aged 18 years, is expected to be charged with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, recklessly causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, and affray.

A 15-year-old is expected to be charged with affray.

An 18-year-old Jacana man was charged in July with intentionally causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, recklessly causing serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, affray and other related offences in relation to the incident.

He remains remanded in custody and is expected to reappear at the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday, November 4.

A 16-year-old Dallas boy sustained life threatening injuries after he was allegedly stabbed during the incident.

He received treatment for his injuries and was released from hospital after almost two weeks.
