People who live, work and play in the City of Whittlesea are invited to help shape the municipality’s arts, festivals and events calendar.
Whittlesea council is inviting feedback and ideas about the types of events and activities people would like to see – such as exhibitions, community festivals and concerts- at different venues across the municipality in 2022.
Council’s chair administrator Lydia Wilson said the City of Whittlesea was proud of its diverse events program and was keen to hear the community’s ideas on what else could be included, for when people are able to get out more.
“Our events calendar is designed to get the community out and having fun when we’re safely able to, and we want to make sure we’re including the right mix of events so there is something everyone can access and enjoy,” Ms Wilson said.
“While we’re unable to run in-person events because of lockdowns at the moment, we’re using this time to really evaluate our program so we can have a bigger and better program in 2022 and beyond.
“Council is proud of its vibrant and rich arts and cultural events calendar, and we’re looking forward to hearing community members’ ideas on how we can enrich it further.
“It might be live music, food stalls, community festivals, come-and-try workshops or children’s entertainment – tell us what local events in the City of Whittlesea you would enjoy going to the most.”
Residents can have their say by completing an online survey at engage.whittlesea.vic.gov.au until Friday, September 10.
