One of five mystery COVID-19 cases today has been identified as a Roxburgh Park local.

Chief health officer Brett Sutton said the case, among 15 new locally acquired cases recorded today, works in Bundoora.

Professor Sutton said he expected the case to be linked to a known outbreak by tomorrow, although mystery cases are still a worry.

“Those mystery cases… are a particular concern,” he said.

“These are individuals who don’t know that they were infectious at the time.

“They’ve been out in the community, within restrictions… so those exposure sites are quite numerable.”

Professor Sutton said it was important for people to keep an eye on the exposure site list, which continues to grow, and to get tested if any symptoms develop.
